Rosicrucianism is a spiritual and cultural movement, and the name of the Rosicrucians can be found in almost every esoteric lexicon. However, most explanations are based on a variety of major misconceptions and historical speculation.

Rosicrucians

Rosicrucians – Some organizations have adopted the name “Rosicrucians” and receive attention in esoteric history books, but only a vanishingly small number of them are truly involved in the Rosicrucian initiatory path. They often use an outside esoteric school to work covertly in the background. The “invisible” Rosicrucian Order has been active in Europe for centuries, if not longer, but in order to protect the initiatory flame, the invisible seal of secrecy must not be broken.

At the beginning of the 17th century, a group emerged that announced itself as an unknown esoteric order by publishing two texts that promised insights into nature, the physical universe and the spiritual realm that were hidden from the average person.

The “Fama Fraternitatis” (1614) describes the principles and rules of the Rosicrucians. It also mentions that the Rosicrucian Order deals with initiation rituals and secret sciences based on the ‘Kabbalah’. The Kabbalah is seen as a task and a celestial ladder through which communication can take place between the higher worlds and the earthly realm. Numerous organizations claiming affiliation with Rosicrucianism refer to the Fama Fraternitatis.

Following the six agreements of the “Fama Fraternitatis”, the “Confessio Fraternitatis” (1615) presents 14 confessions, emphasizing the faults of profane communities and their leaders who pursue political and worldly goals under the guise of religion. The Rosicrucian Order is described as a community unknown to the masses. It is an order of wise men dedicated to the betterment and spiritual growth of mankind. The authors also state that the Rosicrucian Order can only be found and its benefits shared through the will of God.

The “Chymical Wedding” (1616) is erroneously circulated as the third manifesto of the “Brotherhood of the Rosy Cross”, although its style and content are very different from the first two.

The Rosicrucian Order was then as active as it is now. Worthy candidates are still initiated into this order and pass through the ten degrees of initiation, corresponding to the Tree of Life in the Kabbalah. Many charlatans cleverly misuse the term “Rosicrucian” and have no connection to this teaching. This includes popular large communities that use this name. The Order does not send out initiation rituals or award degrees. Every aspirant to a genuine Rosicrucian Order is ritually initiated in a temple, separating the wheat from the chaff.

The Hermetic Academy teaches the teachings of this tradition. When the student is ready, he receives this teaching. The doors of wisdom are closed and wait for the worthy candidate to knock!
